Lynda Jones is a retired social worker, who worked in public schools in the Denver area for more than thirty years. After retiring, she moved to Mazatlán, Mexico on a whim. She was looking for an adventure and moving to a foreign country seemed like a good idea. She bought an historic hacienda, remodeled it, and spent five years running a guest home for travelers from around the world.
Lynda met Ernesto Flores, the inspiration for A Citizen of the World, when she was sitting on a bench on Olas Altas beach. Ernesto was selling tours and seafood. Lynda told him she didn’t need any seafood or a tour, but she did need a handyman to build a fountain for her courtyard. Ernesto volunteered, and they have been together ever since.
Lynda’s writing reflects her love for the Mexican people and their culture. Although she has moved back to Colorado, she travels to México frequently. Her favorite part of traveling is the stories she hears along the way.
